My love for animals and the desire to help them has led to a possible career path: becoming a Veterinarian, says Jennifer one of the Akshaya Patra beneficiaries.
Jennifer is presently pursuing her 10th standard in a Government High School, Yashwanthpur. “Animals are the most innocent creatures that you’ll find on the planet. It is our responsibility to nurture and take care of them. We find thousands of animal abuse cases registered every year in different parts of the world. I feel pathetic when I come across such abuses. Sometimes I wonder if we are just humans without humanity. We humans might be superior to other animals, but that doesn’t give us the power to rule over animals” says Jennifer.
Further she says, “I want to take up Veterinary Physician as my career because I want to put end to the sufferings of street animals. Not only do I want to treat them, but I also want to open an animal shelter where I can shelter them and give them up for adoption at a later stage. We all should join hands in making this world a better place for them” concludes Jennifer.
Apart from aspiring to be a veterinary doctor, Jennifer has her heart set on cookery. She loves to experiment with food and serve others. After school hours, the 16-year-old young girl helps her mother in the household chores and completes her assigned work. She indulges herself in gardening during the leisure period. She mentions that The Akshaya Patra Foundation has played a vital role in her developmental process by feeding her hot and nutritious food. With this, the desire to reach her goal became a lot easier.
