In the presence of Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Honourable President of India, Akshaya Patra celebrated serving of 2 billion meals. Attendees included Shri Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister of Human Resource Development; Shri Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka; Shri Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, Governor of Karnataka; Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, Former Minister of Human Resource Development, Mrs Sudha Murty, Chairperson, Infosys Foundation, among others. The event on August 27, 2016, was presided by Shri Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman of Akshaya Patra; Shri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Vice Chairman and Shri Mohandas Pai, Independent Trustee of the Foundation.
