Syndicate Bank contributed a meal distribution vehicle to The Akshaya Patra Foundation. The mid-day meal distribution vehicle donation was flagged off by Sudhir Kumar Jain, Chairman of Syndicate Bank, along with Executive Directors M. Anjaneya Prasad, T. K. Srivastava and other top officials of the bank, alongside Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman of The Akshaya Patra Foundation.

The inauguration ceremony of the vehicle was followed by a visit to one of the Akshaya Patra kitchens to help the dignitaries understand the process by which nutritious Akshaya Patra mid-day meals are cooked and delivered to over 1.3 million children across India on every school day.

The meal distribution vehicle is custom designed to maintain optimum temperature, remain dust-free and retain the freshness of the meals.

"The blue buses at Akshaya Patra not only carry freshly cooked nutritious meals to 1.3 million children across India, but also the smile & hope for children to get good food. This new vehicle will be utilized to transport Akshaya Patra's freshly cooked nutritious mid-day meals from the kitchens to schools across the state.
